Halogen Free Flame Retardant Ammonium Polyphosphate Phase II
When the temperature is within 250℃ , the property of steel changes
very little. When the temperature reaches above 300℃ , the strength
gradually decreases . When the temperature reaches 450℃ to 650℃,
the strength usually drops to zero only in about 15 minutes . Therefore , the steel structure must be coated with intumescent
coating to improve its fire resistance limit to meet the
requirements of building design .
Intumescent coating is popular in the markeet because of the thin
thickness and excellent dcoration effect.
The theory of fireproofing :
Insulation effect and the heat transfer is stopped by intumescent
carbon layer .
Heat absorption because of the intumescent process , it will absorb
lots of heat during the process of softening , fusion , evaporation
and form the carbon layer .
Ammonium polyphosphate (TF-201) is usually working together with
melamine and pentaerythritol .
Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) as acid donor , Melamine (MEL) as gas
donor and Pentaerythritol (Penta) as carbon donor , these three
factors are composed of an intumescent flame retardant system.
TF-201 is suitable for water based and solvent based coatings with
